About Cliky
Cliky is a Windows application that adds sound feedback to keyboard and mouse button presses. The idea behind it is simple: make the computer feel more interactive and enjoyable to use by giving immediate audio response to input. It was built as a passion project by a single developer and is offered as a free download.
The program was originally created to meet a personal need — something lightweight and responsive that could add sound to typing without feeling bloated or overcomplicated. Over time, it evolved into something more refined, with enough flexibility to suit a range of preferences and use cases.
Cliky runs in the background and listens for key and mouse press events using the Windows API. When it detects an input, it plays a corresponding sound effect using the NAudio library. You can create your own sound effects by uploading audio files and grouping them together. Keys can be organized into groups as well, allowing different sounds to be used for different parts of the keyboard or mouse.
Customization is at the center of Cliky’s design. Users can create as many key groups and sound effects as they like, choose which keys trigger which sounds, and tweak settings like playback volume and variability. You can also set it to start with Windows and minimize it to the system tray to keep it out of the way.
Cliky does not require an internet connection and does not collect or transmit any data. It installs with a single executable, stores settings locally, and stays focused on doing one thing well: making input feel better. If you care about how your computer feels to use, Cliky was built with that in mind.
